Missionary Society

The Missionary Society will share the good news, salvation through Jesus Christ with unsaved men, women and children at home and abroad by using the processes and program outlined in the Bible, The Book of Discipline of the Christian Methodist Episcopal church and the Constitution and Bylaws of the Women’s Missionary Council.

 

Silver Saints

A ministry of seasoned, mature members age 60+ who believe that you can experience tremendous joy in service and encouragement to others.  Committed to aiding others in their spiritual growth and promoting community outreach, education and stewardship.

 

Lay Council

The Lay Council in conjunction with 100 Black Men of Columbus and Brother to Brother provide monthly mentoring sessions at various schools across Columbus, Georgia, reaching young men in the community.  The Lay Council is dedicated to studying, growing, and providing outreach in the community to help enrich the lives of the young men in Columbus.

 

Beyond the Walls

The Beyond the Walls Ministry is a collaborated effort of family and friends to feed the homeless a hot meal, weekly, every Tuesday at 12:00 noon at three locations:  The Park on 2nd Avenue, Tent City, and On the River in Columbus, Georgia. This ministry is undergirded by Matthew 25:31-46. Our goal is to show love and compassion to our neighbors.

 

Ministry to Men

MAN UP!  mentoring of our African American youg men by African American men to encourage them to be men of honor, build self-esteem and develop their unique strengths, talents and gifts; all while challenging them to a life of responsible action. These young men will also be taught how to deal with and resolve conflicts.

Leads weekly Wednesday night prayer meeting.

Congregational Care 

Care for members; performing regular outreach and inquiries on status (physical, mental, spiritual) and other need requests. Also, send out cards, monthly, to nursing home residents.

 

Brother to Brother

Serve as positive role models and mentors to young men ages 9-17 years old. Provide instructions and educational resources for day-to-day challenges, basic skills and dealing with subjects such as attitudes, bullying, school issues and grades.
